Terms of Service

Welcome to PIRL (“PIRL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PIRL mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Please read these Terms carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts and Phone Verification

To use PIRL you must create an account and verify ownership of your mobile phone number. During signup you enter your phone number and request a one-time passcode (OTP), which we send to you by SMS. You must enter the code to complete account creation. These messages are transactional and security-related; they are not marketing. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency depends on your verification activity. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle SMS and your mobile information.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly at support@pirl.social if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others.
• Post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, abusive, hateful, harmful, or sexually exploitative.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Upload viruses or malicious code, or otherwise attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service.
• Access the Service through unauthorized means, including scraping, bots, or reverse engineering.
• Collect or harvest other users’ personal information without their consent.

5. User Content and Media

The Service lets you create and share content, including events, memories, captures, and photo and video uploads (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. You are solely responsible for the User Content you create and share, and you represent that you have the rights necessary to do so.

6. License You Grant to PIRL

By submitting User Content, you grant PIRL a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that User Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account, except where the content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it, or where retention is required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by PIRL and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, we reserve all rights in and to the Service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PIRL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting the updated Terms here and revising the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which PIRL is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
